Jupiter, by devilgas

devilgas (Dave Shields) opens the first 2012 season of Picture of the Day here on Digital Photography Now. Tonight also happens to be the first showing of a new series of BBC TV's Stargazing Live on BBC2 from 8:30PM (UK viewers). And this makes the choice of Dave's Jupiter photograph, taken - believe it or not - using a webcam.
I'd normally add a paragraph or two of information from the featured photographer but as there has been some discussion about this photo on the main DPNow.com forum, why not head over there to find out why Dave used a webcam and how this image was constructed by using several donor shots in a technique called 'stacking'.
