This month's ancient Greek god from Mt.Olympus is Dionysus. Hestia, the goddess of the hearth, was originally pencilled in for this month but her character was rather innocuous and as her place among the Olympian gods was eventually taken by Dyonysus (god of wine) we're going to feature him in April.
So how can Dionysus be your photographic inspiration this month? He was, by all accounts, a fairly happy and carefree type, no doubt because of his relationship with the grape! He's also the one that gave Midas his golden touch - and took it back again in order to put things right. So, happiness, wine, grapes and gold could all be suitable subjects for this month's entries.
The prizes!
As usual, this month's winner will receive £500 towards Olympus products and go through to the grand finale in the summer for a £2,000 luxury holiday in Greece.
It's easy to enter!
Just follow these 3 simple steps:
1. Find the location of your nearest Olympus Photo Imaging Expert (PIX) dealer. This is easy - just click
here to get to the PIX site which has a national dealer guide.
2. Choose or create a picture to submit. The competition is very loosely themed on ancient Greek Gods. See above for this month's themes.
3. Send us your entry! You can do this via
olympus.competition@dpnow.com
Your picture can be either a JPEG or TIFF image up to 1MB in file size. If you aren't sure how to format your picture for email, contact us via the same address for some advice.
Don't forget to include the name of your nearest PIX dealer, plus a simple sentence about how your picture relates to the Greek God you have based your picture's theme on.
And that's it!
Once again, if you win one of the £500 monthly competitions being run until September 2004, your entry will go head to head with the other 11 monthly winners to compete for the grand prize of that £2,000 holiday in Greece.
