Olympus E-System credited with numerous international awards
Since its launch in October 2003 the Olympus E-System and the Olympus E-1 interchangeable lens type digital SLR camera that stands at its core, have received wide acclaim and numerous awards from photographic professionals in countries around the world.
Notably, the FourThirds System standard, on which the Olympus E-System is based, received the 2003-2004 TIPA European Photo and Imaging Award for Innovative Technology. Furthermore, the Olympus E-System's development team leader received the 2004 Technical Achievement Award from the U.S. Photo Imaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association.
The Olympus E-System sits at the apex of advanced digital camera development, combining superior optical technology with advanced digital technology. Both system and camera were developed according to a design concept of ‘the highest digital image quality in every detail’.
