Barn Owl with improved(?) bokeh by StuartR

StuartR - is our featured photographer on the Picture of the Day for this Thursday with his Barn Owl photo from the Digital Photography Now gallery. The picture, as its title implies, is a reworked version of an original. In fact there is a later version too. Whatever Stuart has done, there is no doubt that the increased blur he has achieved in the background 'bokeh' has worked. The barn owl has more presence and the bottom line is a very polished study of this handsome bird. Only the leather strap on the owl's foot detracts slightly from an image to be proud of.

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day. The gallery facility here is completely free; all you need to do is register as a user on our discussion forum and you will get an automatic 25MB of space, which is good for around 125 pictures uploaded at web resolution, about 200K per picture. At the time of writing we had just over 13,000 pictures on the galleries and it's well worth a browse.
