The DPNow Golden Gallery kicks off with three initial pictures
Last month we invited submissions to our new Golden Gallery feature. The DPNow users photo gallery has some real gems and while the Golden Gallery is partially for highlighting the very best of what can already be found in the main gallery, we also want the Golden Gallery to inspire both existing and new visitors to DPNow to attain new and particularly high levels of picture excellence.
This is quite a daunting proposition and although we had around a dozen submissions the fear of failure must certainly be a factor that puts some off. We only accepted three pictures, so there are several disappointed people. I salute them for their enthusiasm and bravery and heartily encourage them to try again.
The three pictures (above) that got through are certainly of a high standard, but - and certainly not meaning to be disrespectful to Andrew Thatcher and Philip J. Filia - we want to see even better ones in the Golden Gallery. We're sure there are many more fantastic images to come. Don't be afraid of rejection; you never know, you might surprise yourself.
Go to this page to submit your picture. The full terms and conditions can be found there, too.
In the mean time, what do you think of the pictures we have selected? Comment on the Golden Gallery in its dedicated section on the general DPNow forum, or add your comments to the specific pictures. Click on the thumbnails on above to be take directly to the images in the Golden Gallery, where you can rate the pictures and leave comments.
Here's to the next batch of Golden Gallery pictures, could it include one of yours?
