Dane-Elec Launches 9-In-4 Usb 2.0 Reader/Writer From Media Gear

Memory leader unveils reader/writer with the ability to read 9 different types of memory card in exclusive European agreement

Dane-Elec, Europe's leading manufacturer and distributor of memory modules for home and professional computing, digital photography and telecommunications, today announces the UK launch of the Media Gear 9-in-4 USB 2.0 reader/writer.

As the name suggests, the 9-in-4 reader/writer is able to rapidly transfer data directly between the nine types of memory card that it supports, to a Mac or PC. This innovative design has four slots to accommodate Compact Flash(tm) I and II, as well as Micro Drive(tm), XD Picture Card(tm), Smart Media(tm), Multi Media(tm) or Secure Digital(tm) cards, as well as Memory Stick(tm) and Memory Stick Pro(tm). A flashing light indicates the transfer of data with a speed in excess of 40 MB/s.

Compact and lightweight at only 28 grams, the 9-in-4 reader/writer is equipped with a USB 2.0 link, and can be directly connected to a PC or laptop. It is fully compatible with Windows 98/98SE, ME, XP, and MAC OS 9.2.2, 10.1.5, and 10.2.3. In order to operate the reader/writer Windows 98/98SE users require a driver, which is on a CD included with the packaging. The unit consumes less than 500mA, and is delivered with a one metre long USB cable.
