A super slim compact digital with new Blur Reduction technology
25th July 2006; Pentax is pleased to announce the launch of the Optio S7 featuring Blur Reduction technology to ensure consistently great photos no matter how challenging the environment. Despite being smaller than a packet of playing cards the camera features a 3x optical zoom which fully retracts into the body, thanks to Pentax's unique sliding lens system.
The Optio S7 is the latest model in the Optio S series, a collection renowned for slim and super stylish compact bodies. In addition to an upgraded 7.0 effective-megapixel CCD, it has been decked out with extra features to make it easier to use. These include a Blur Reduction mode that reduces camera shake and subject blurring, as well as new Face Recognition technology that simplifies portrait-taking by automatically detecting the position of the subject's face and adjusting the focus and exposure to achieve perfect portraits.
A new high-resolution, 2.5 inch non-glare LCD monitor provides users with excellent outdoor visibility - even in bright conditions. The Optio S7's auto-tracking AF feature continuously focuses on subjects such as kids and pets as they move. Since the focus frame automatically follows the movement of the subject inside the photo frame action shots are captured perfectly with the subject always in focus.
The stylish design and cutting edge technology utilised in the Optio S7 will appeal to everyone from style conscious gadget fans, right through to keen photographers who demand advanced features in a compact shell.
The S7 will be available in the UK from end of August and will retail for around £250.
