IT industry news site, Silicon.com, has reported that yet another online digital camera pricing mistake has raised the hackles of bargain-hunting consumers.

Fancy an Olympus E-1 DSLR, normally over £600, for £98? That's what Apple's online store was offering earlier this week, according to a Silicon.com WebWatch report. Last month Amazon reportedly offering Olympus E-500 DSLRs for £200 lower than the normally discounted price, which was again said to be a mistake by the vendor. In both cases, orders were accepted and verified but subsequently cancelled by the vendors, leaving customers enraged.

In 2002, Kodak advertised its DX3700 camera for £100 when its normal price was £329. The company eventually honoured all the orders placed at the lower price, but not before a lot of prevaricating. The mistake reportedly cost Kodak UK £2.3 million.
