DPNow wishes all its visitors, from around the world, the very best in seasonal greetings as 2005 nears its end

There is no doubt about it - 2005 has been an eventful year. We all have our personal highlights - even lowlights; it does seem that 2005 had more than its normal share of natural disasters and tragedy, be it the Tsunami right at the beginning of the year, the terrible hurricane that hit the south east USA or the awful earthquake in Pakistan and India. Of course there were other disasters too.

One of the reasons why these events are so vivid in our memory is through photography; both video and still imagery. It's been a year when the ubiquity of camera phones has played its part in the reporting of news events, too.

Surely, hopefully, 2006 will be a less tragic year. Let's hope lenses will be focussed on more happiness and joy than sadness and horror.
