JVC proudly announce the release of the GZ-MG70, the flagship model in the revolutionary Everio G -Series of hard disk camcorders, the world’s first collection of camcorders to use built-in hard disk drives as a storage media.
The new stylish silver and black Everio GZ-MG70 has a 2.12 mega-pixel CCD and features an internal hard disk drive with a 30GB capacity, enabling unprecedented recording times in a consumer camcorder at over seven hours of DVD-quality video or a maximum of thirty-seven hours of footage in extended recording mode. The Everio Series is unparalleled in the camcorder industry, having eliminated the need for using and replacing media, while offering quick random access for ease of operation and the compact and lightweight design .

1. Built-in hard disk drive and over seven hours of DVD-quality video recording capability
The new JVC Everio Series camcorder is equipped with a 1.8-inch internal hard disk drive for extended recording of DVD-quality video. The internal hard drive can record between 7 hours and 37.5 hours of footage depending on mode. The use of an internal hard drive eliminates the need to replace media, making it ideal for situations that requires extended recording, such as when travelling or shooting sporting events etc. Hard disk recording also enables quick random access operation for ease of operation.

2. High-quality video and digital still image capability in a compact and lightweight design
The compact and lightweight design weighs no more than 320 grams during shooting, yet incorporates advanced specifications including a 2.5-inch clear LCD monitor and 2 Mega-Pixel-class digital still image capability. The large capacity means the camcorder has the ability to store a huge number of these high-quality stills.
The GZ-MG70 features a 1/3.6” 2.12 megapixel CCD having a total of 2.12 million pixels (effective: 1.23 million for moving pictures, 2 million for still pictures) to offer the high resolution capabilities needed for high quality digital videography and photography.
To fully utilize the 2.12 megapixel CCD’s picture performance, the GZ-MG70 uses JVC’s Megabrid Imaging Engine that separately processes video and still signals, providing optimal processing for each. Megabrid technology assures high sensitivity and a high signal-to-noise ratio for moving pictures and clear, high-resolution progressive still images.
3. Fast Transfer of saved footage to a PC
The USB 2.0 interface enables 60-minutes of saved footage to be transferred to a PC in just 10 minutes .
4. Two key technologies for hard disk protection
A floating damper mechanism effectively dampens shock and vibration by wrapping the disk with cushioning gels made of impact absorbing material.
A 3D acceleration sensor automatically perceives when the unit has been dropped and shuts off the power to protect the hard disk.
